Instead, we are heading to Rickenbacker wooo hooo! 🙂
This is a super fun location for our run/walk this Saturday, with beautiful views, different options for everyone, our NYC marathoners will get a chance to do their bridge repeats, but the flat areas are also beautiful!
We are scheduled for 18 and 12 miles, but you can do whatever distance you feel comfortable with if you have not been coming. After the run/walk, we will jump in the water with running clothes on and all! 🙂 it will be a ton of fun! Do not miss it!
HERE ARE THE LOGISTICS FOR THIS SATURDAY:
CARPOOL OPTION:
- Carpooling – for those that would like to carpool, we will meet at the BJ’s in the Oakwood Plaza (Stirling and I-95) at 4:20 am for the 18-milers. Please email or text Denise if you plan on carpooling so we know who to look out for. In the a.m. reach her at 954-610-9872.
- Keep in mind, it’s a quick, easy drive and the training at Rickenbacker is not only beneficial but fun, too! With awesome views!

- We will park and meet at the parking lot located before going over the bridge. (Right after you pass the toll, on the right hand side)
- We will be finishing up our run with a swim in the ocean. Bring snacks for after if you’d like! Family welcome!
- We will not be meeting at George English Park this Saturday.Â
- Get plenty of rest today and don’t forget to hydrate!
- The course is a nice paved out and back loop and bridge repeats but it will be dark when we arrive, so remember your headlamps! There are flat options as well so you can do as many bridges or as little as you’d like according to what you are training for.
- If you do not wish to carpool, you can meet us there, in the parking lot at 5:00 am. If you are doing less miles you can get there at 6:15 am and look for the yellow shirts going up and down the bridge 🙂
WHAT TO BRING:
- A set of dry clothes to change into after we jump in the water
- Your preferred post run snacks
- A towel (and a beach chair if you’d like)
