I found running with a “couch to 5k group, “ in 2014. Before running, I practiced yoga since college and taught yoga classes, from 2012-2014.On Christmas 2015, shortly after moving to Florida, my husband’s sister got the whole family started training for our first half marathon, which was the following September, in Kauai.
I loved my first half marathon and couldn’t wait to find a running group. It was so much more fun to train with a group! I started with FIT Weston, in September, 2016 and I love it. Alone, I make excuses and can take forever to get started but with the group, someone says, “let’s go,” and I just go. My coaches have been really inspiring and helpful. Now, I get to say, “let’s go,” for other people.
Together, we’ve got this! I’ve finished 9 half marathons, a Keys 100 Relay, a Picnic Island Relay, 2 full marathons (with guidance of Coach Luis Aguilar) and numerous other events, mostly with FIT.
I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds for ALL of us.
