Daniel Umarov is a 16 years old happy and outgoing Floridian teenager, going into Senior year at Cypress Bay High School in Weston. Danny started his running journey with Kids in Training FIT group when he was 11 years old, encouraged by his parents who were already hooked on the sport. Since then, and with the support of the Friends in Training family, Danny has never stopped and has grown to enjoy everything that the running sport has to offer: the camaraderie, the joy of accomplishments and the fulfillment of supporting others.
Danny is currently part of the FIT Racing Team and also Assistant Coach for the Kids in Training Program which he particularly loves: “I like helping with the training of younger kids because when the race day comes I get to see their improvements; it is a rewarding feeling to know that I have been able to contribute to their accomplishment and happiness"
Danny currently holds a 5K PR of 17’:24”, 1 mile PR of 4’:43” and won 1st place overall in the Sept 11 Firefighters Hero 5K 2021. Danny has been also part of his high school Cross Country and Track Varsity teams, for which he recently became its captain.
Besides the running sport, Danny is an avid learner and fan of all things that have to do with math; including physics. He is also deeply passionate about classical piano, which he started to play when he was 5 years old and for which today he continues his learning with the University of Miami, Frost School of Music "
