Denise has lived in South Florida nearly her entire life. Denise joined FIT many years ago, after a friend suggested they train for a half marathon! She was hooked right from the start and has been with FIT ever since, eventually becoming a coach. The 2018 season will be her 20th year with the group. On a quest to complete the 50-states, she has run 35 marathons (but thanks to repeating favorites she has only 23 states, so far); about 70 half marathons, a few 100-mile team relays and a 50-mile ultra AND many more races planned! “I haven’t run everywhere yet…but I’m working on it!” In addition to being an RRCA-certified coach, Denise is also a race pacer, which is always rewarding. The best part of running is the people she’s met and the friends she has made, especially those within her Friends In Training family. Her favorite all-time race? Just ask anyone that knows her and they will undoubtedly tell you it is the Pikes Peak Marathon, dubbed America’s Ultimate Challenge. Challenging indeed and yet supremely breathtaking (in every sense of the word), the first 13.1 miles takes you to the 14,115’ summit. Denise will be returning in 2018 for the 7th time.
