My love for running began after my husband signed me up for a 5K run in New York City’s Central Park. While we lived in New Jersey we enjoyed running and participating in 5K races, except in the winter time. We moved to Florida in 1991 and have enjoyed being able to run year-round, and near the ocean. I was part of Memorial Milers for many years and fell in love with group running. I became a FIT Hollywood member last year.
Although, I am now walking due to knee problems, I was a lifelong-runner. I have completed 19 half marathons, 1 marathon, and the Disney’s 39.3 Goofy’s Challenge. Running has always been one the elements that must be present in my daily life, just like healthy eating, enjoying downtime, and spending time with family and friends. Running helps me reconnect with self, do my best thinking, put everything into perspective and enjoy a low stress life.
I have found out that walking can provide a lot of the same benefits of running. I am excited to encourage and motivate others to meet their individual goals.
