PERSONAL COACHING PHILOSOPHY
Coaching Core Values
- Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard;
- The one aspect of a committed runner that he/she can always control is how hard he/she works;
- Work ethics in running meetings immediately affects the runners’ development and the running mates’ level of camaraderie.
- We work as a team; no runners left behind.
- Always expect your coach to push you to the limits. Drive yourself to step up to the level; your coach expects it from you.
- No runner is above any other; we each help out.
Running Experience
- Started running in 2008 as a bet among friends; and never stopped…
- 11 full marathons in the book (PR – 03:43:14).
- Multiple half marathons in the book (too many I lost count).
- Multiple 5k’s, 10k’s, one triathlon Olympic distance relay, and one triathlon sprint distance.
- Multiple races as a pacer leading fellow runners to achieve their personal goals.
Runners’ Expectations
Train and perform to the best of your own abilities. Have a positive attitude and never quit. Exemplify sportsmanship. Only give positive encouragement to fellow running mates. Arrive prepared for all events and training sessions. Practice workouts and conditioning on your own outside the meeting(s) day(s). Respect the coaches, running mates, and the rules of safe running. Observe and respect the mother-nature, the weather. Be always alert on the road respecting cars, bicycles, and traffic signs.
Runners’ Goals
The most important aspect of “RUNNING” is to plan and prepare a perfect “goal setting”. I am here to help each and every one to do it. FIT offers all the necessary and adequate tools! Setting goals is important so coaches can analyze runners’ achievements and address adaptations and changes as we move forward. Knowing each runner individually first, then working in group will be the essence of my work. It will require each runner to commit and try to achieve excellence at their own pace. Getting FIT and running fast is a good part of our goals, but it’s far from being the most important; having fun, feeling welcome, and being healthy, and achieving the goals set is far more important.
Setting Goals – Pursuing Goals – Achieving Goals = SUCCESS
